He graduated from the Medical School of the University of Athens, and completed his Residency Training and PhD in Urology at the 2nd University Department of the Sismanoglio Hospital (2001). He pursued his Fellowship for one year at the Johns Hopkins Hospital, the Brady Urological Institute of the USA. He worked in a salaried position under the supervision of prominent Professors P. Walsh, LR Kavoussi and A. Partin, and specialized in Laparoscopic Urology and Minimally Invasive Treatment of Renal Tumors with the use of Radiofrequencies and Cryotherapy. He then went to Innsbruck, Austria, where as a Clinical Fellow in Advanced Laparoscopy he continued his training in Laparoscopic Surgery. Since December 2008, he has been an Associate Professor at the 2nd University Urology Department of the Medical School at the Sismanoglio Hospital in Athens. He is a Fellow of the European Board of Urology (FEBU-2001) and holds the ECFMG medical license (United States Medical License Examination). He is a Member of the Hellenic, European and American Association of Urology. He has been a Reviewer in well-known journals such as “Journal of Urology” and “Urology”, and is the Editor of “Hellenic Urology”.
He has 15 publications in Greek-language journals and 98 foreign-language papers published in Pubmed journals. He has participated in the authoring of 9 chapters in foreign-language books.
