He graduated from the Medical School of the University of Ioannina and pursued his Residency Training in Urology at the 2nd Urology Department of the University of Athens, where he got his PhD. He trained in Laparoscopic Urology and Endourology of the Upper Urinary Tract at the Newcastle upon Tyne University Urology Department in the UK. On his return to Greece, he was elected Lecturer of Urology and was later promoted to Assistant Professor at the University of Athens and Associate Professor. His works have been published in Urological journals with the highest impact factor. He is an Editorial Board Member of "Hellenic Urology", and a Reviewer in many international journals. Owing to his overall research work, he was nominated by the Hellenic Urological Association in 2005 as the most suitable candidate among the Greek Urologists below the age of 40 for the "C. Matula" Award of the European Association of Urology (EAU). Mr. Skolarikos received the title of Fellow of the European Board of Urology (FEBU) in 2001, with the highest grade in Europe.
He is an Official Member of the UrolIthiasis Guidelines Panel, World Health Organization and EAU. He is an Organizational Member of the European Society of Urine Technology (ESUT), affiliated to EAU. Since 2011, he has been the Head of the ESUT Endourology Department.
