Liatsikos Evangelos

He is a Professor of Urology at the University Hospital of Patras, Scientific Coordinator of the Lithiasis and Laparoscopy Unit of the same hospital, and Visiting Professor of the Urology Department at the University of Leipzig and Vienna. Since 2016, he has been the President of the European Association of Endoscopic Surgery. He is considered an internationally acclaimed Endourologist and Laparoscopic Surgeon, with a great number of live laparoscopic and endoscopic surgical procedures performed at International Urology Congresses.

Thanks to his clinical and research work, the Endourology Department of the University General Hospital of Patras has been applying the most advanced Endoscopic Techniques in the treatment of Benign and Malignant Urological Diseases, and has been established as an International Training Center for Endourology organizing International Clinical Seminars and the International Fellowship Program recognized by the World Endourological Society. From a clinical and research point of view, he has contributed significantly to the worldwide recognition of Single-Site Surgery, Laparoscopic Surgery Assisted by Transvaginal Approach, and the development of metal stents in the urinary tract.

He is the Author of over 260 international scientific articles, and a number of Greek and foreign-language Urology books. He is frequently invited as a Speaker at the most highly acclaimed Urology Conferences. Due to his research activity, he received the "Arthur award" in 2009 and the title of "Academic Endourology Fellowship Program Director" by the World Endourological Society in 2016.
