He graduated from the Medical School of AUTh, pursued his Residency Training in Urology (1998) and got his Ph.D. (2004) at the Urology Department of AUTh. He worked as a Scientific Associate of the Neurourology, Urodynamics and Andrology Clinics. He was Registrar B’ at the Urology Department of the General Hospital of Halkidiki (2000-2002), when he was awarded a Scholarship from the European Urological Scholarship Programme at the National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery & Hammersmith Hospital in London. After completing his Scholarship and for the next 3,5 years, he worked as a Clinical Researcher at the Institute of Neurology, University College London(UCL). He was elected Lecturer of AUTh (2006), Assistant Professor of Neurourology (2011) and Associate Professor (2016). His collaboration with UCL continued and was elected Lecturer Emeritus. He has been the Head Researcher in a number of multi-centre trials and research protocols.
He has chaired many scientific sessions in international conferences. He has published 72 articles in PubMed, and received the Award of Best Publication in the “British Journal of Urology International” for the year 2004. In 2008, he organized the 1st European Consensus Meeting on the Use of Botulinum Toxin in Urology (European Urology 2009, 55 (1): 100-120). He is a Reviewer in international scientific journals, Editorial Board Member of “European Urology”,“Neurourology & Urodynamics” and “British Journal of Urology International”, and has received more than 3.000 international citations.
