POSTGRADUATE TRAINING
One-year training in Nijmegen, Netherlands, on a scholarship by the Onassis Foundation
He graduated from McGill University in Canada (BSc) and the Medical School of the University of Athens, where he did his Residency Training in Urology (Laiko Hospital) and his Ph.D. Following one-year training in Nijmegen, Netherlands, he was elected Lecturer (1994) at the 2nd University Urology Department at Sismanoglio Hospital until 2008, when he was promoted to Associate Professor. Today, he is the Head of the Urology Department of HYGEIA Hospital. He has been a Member of the European Board of Urology (EBU) since 1997, and was the President of the Board from 2008 to 2011. For seven years now he has been a Member of the EAU Guidelines Committee on BPH.
He has participated in international multi-center trials and been invited as a speaker at 19 International Conferences. He has authored 60 articles in Pub Med and 7 chapters in books.
He is the President of the "Mantzavinateion" Public Benefit Foundation in Kefalonia, and Member of the HILL School Board. During the last two years, he has been actively involved in the organization of the Urology Department of the HYGEIA Hospital in Tirana, Albania.
