She was born in Kavala, graduated from the Arsakeio High School of Psychiko in Athens and from the Medical School of the Justus-Liebig University, Giessen, Germany. From 2002 to 2006, she worked as a Scientific Researcher at the Institute of Genetics at the Justus-Liebig University, Giessen, while writing her PhD Thesis with tittle ”The Human Androgen Receptor as a Target to Supress the Growth of Prostate Cancer Cells". She worked as a Postdoctoral Researcher at the Institute of Human Genetics in Jena University Clinic (2006-2007) and at the Institute of Medical Radiobiology of the University Clinic in Essen (2007-2008). From 2008-2014, she served as a Teaching Fellow (under the provision of 407/80 Presidential Decree) at the Department of Biological Sciences and Technologies of the University of Ioannina. In 2012, she was elected Lecturer at the Medical Faculty of AUTh. Since 2016, she has been serving as an Assistant Professor.
She was awarded Scholarships from the University Space Research Association to attend the 2008 NASA Space Radiation Summer Workshop at the Brookhaven National Laboratory (BNL) in New York, and from the Research Committee of AUTh within the context of “Scholarships of Excellence" and "Scholarships for Young Researchers" in 2013 and 2016 respectively. Her authoring work includes 20 international publications (h factor = 12, with more than 380 citations). Since 2016, she has been a Scientific Associate of ISUD.
