He graduated from the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. He pursued his Training in Surgery and Urology at: the 1st Urology Department, AUTh; at the Harvard University Urology Clinic in Massachusetts General Hospital, Boston; at Christie Hospital in Manchester. In 2015, he became a Specialist Urology Consultant at Christie Hospital. In 2016, he was appointed at the Essex Tertiary Cancer Center of the Southend University Hospital, as an Expert on Urooncology and Complex Pelvic Surgery for the wider region of Essex.
He mainly specializes in Urooncology, Robotic and Laparoscopic Surgery, Penile Cancer Surgery, and Laser Therapies. He specializes also in Urological Diagnosis of Cancer, Surgery for Complex Pelvic / Retroperitoneal Cancers and treatment of Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia with HoLEP. He worked as a member of one of the leading Pelvic Cancer Groups in the United Kingdom at Christie Hospital, and took the lead in setting up a similar group in Essex.
His research interests focus on Prostate diseases, Bladder Cancer (topic of his PhD) and Penile Cancer. He has played a significant role at Christie Hospital setting up probably the largest Web Bank for Penile Cancer in the world.
He is the Lead Pelvic Cancer Surgeon, Urology Cancer Lead, and Fellow of the European Board of Urology (FEBU). He has been awarded the Hospital Heroes-Patient Choice Award being voted by patients of the broader area of Essex.
