He graduated from the Medical School of the University of Athens in 1972. After completing his Residency Training at the Urology Department of the Laikon Hospital of Athens and the Academic Hospital of St. George. Georg Hamburg, Germany (affiliated with the University of Hamburg), he received his Specialty Degree in Urology in 1980. He trained at the Urology Department of the Krefeld University Hospital (Duesseldorf University), Germany (1980-1981) and at the Urology Department of the University Philipps, Marburg Germany (1993). In 1979 he got his PhD from the University of Athens. In 1992, he received the title of Fellow of the European Board of Urology (best grade throughout Europe (2006). From December 1985 to January 1997, he was a Member of the Teaching and Research Academic Staff of the Medical School of the University of Patras. Since February 1998, he has been a full Professor of Urology at the University of Thessaly and the Head of the Urology Department at the University Hospital of Larissa.
He is a Reviewer in international and Greek journals. He has authored more than 125 papers published in prestigious international journals and 85 in Greek magazines. He is the Editor of the book "Modern Urology" (2006).
